Hard Work, Little Appreciation ”

Former Employee - Package Dispatch SupervisorinFlorence, SC
I worked at UPS part-time (more than 3 years)
Pros
-Good pay and benefits
-Very good training
-Recognized as a good launch pad for a career
Cons
-No matter what you do, it isn't good enough
-Things don't slow down for any kind of work condition
-There is a lot of, "Do as I say, not as I do."
-It is a team atmosphere where you pick up whatever your team mate can't (or most cases won't) get done, but usually the person that is actually willing to work gets everything shoved on them. Lack of discipline all around.
Advice to Management
Figure out a way to get people to do their jobs, and not let it fall on other people.

Hard to get in permanent ”

Former Employee - Counter ClerkinOrlando, FL
I worked at UPS as a contractor (more than an year)
Pros
pay ok. some people are ok to work with.
Cons
Extremely hard to get hired in permanent even though you have proved yourself after 2/12 years temping in hopes you will be next. You're given high hopes but that's all. I was recommended for a permanent position by a supervisor there who ended up moving on to a promoted position. So, I was given that wonderful "COURTESY" INTERVIEW. it was nothing else. An HR manager pulls the supervisor out of the interview just before commencing then the supervisor returns back. The story ends.
Advice to Management
Be fair to ALL walks of life. Many different walks of life and cultures and EVERYONE deserves a chance. Your counter is all the same group of people. Stop those COURTESY INTERVIEWS. Don't have your prospective employee at the interview level fill out the employment / tax papers at the first stage interview. You are just boosting hopes and gaining personal information on people who don't get hire.

Disgruntled Technician ”

Current Employee - TSG TechnicianinNew York, NY
I have been working at UPS full-time (more than 10 years)
Pros
Companys rep, stable job, job security
Cons
horrible health benefits, stress, overworked, no training

Great benefits, but very political ”

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
I worked at UPS
Pros
Insurance available for part time employees, flexible shifts, job security, education via CRCP & Earn and Learn
Cons
It's generally who you know rather than what you know

  1. Glassdoor? More like Revolving Door with UPS..! Have recordings, photos, documents, highlighting fraud, racism, bullying, slander etc etc... Tried to inform UPS, Channel 4 Dispatches and Panarama showing more interest. What do do.?????
