Our policy is to comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations in all countries where we operate. Our Code of Business Conduct states policies and procedures that prohibit UPS employees, and the people acting on our behalf, from engaging in unlawful activities, including violations of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the U.K. Bribery Act, and other applicable anti-bribery laws, rules and regulations in various countries. We are not aware of any allegations of corruption in 2012 from any government agency round the world responsible for oversight of this issue.

DIAD centre boards with info notice failures

Unreported PM not despatched
Drivers sent out on paper

Today I have had a difficult situation to deal with due to a team leader deciding not to report 20 PM service failures on the CRS, these were then misreported as missorts the next day on the CRS.
This only came to light when Bill Caplan asked me why we had so many missorts?
As you can imagine I did not enjoy getting back to him with what really happened.

I would like to make it clear to everyone that YOU are responsible to make sure that the information on the CRS is 100% accurate:-

Packages that should have been despatched for delivery and do not leave the building must be reported as AM service failures.
Packages that are not shipped out on the sheduled night are PM service failures, if these were not unloaded the appropriate action needs to be taken and I need to be called and given an explanation.
Missorts are reported as two numbers, domestic and INTL, not one number.

You must personally walk the Centre EVERY day and look for packages that have not been reported correctly and ask questions to see why.

I DO NOT WANT TO WALK INTO ANOTHER BUILDING AND FIND A PACKAGE IN A CONVEYOR CASING, A PACKAGE THAT WAS FOUND AFTER THE FEED LEFT OR PACKAGES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DESPATCHED, THAT HAVE NOT BEEN REPORTED CORRECTLY. I HAVE FOUND ALL OF THESE SCENARIOS OVER THE YEARS AND IT IS ABOUT TIME THEY WERE RESOLVED.

While I am on the subject of service and CRS I would like to remind you all one more time that if you have NDA's I need to know about them BEFORE I read the CRS. I would like you to call me every time you have even one failure and if this call is not made by 1700 I can only assume that you did not know that these NDAs were likely.
I would like a call, NOT CRS and NOT TEXT.

In the last few days there have been numerous occasions of drivers apparently returning to Centres with NDAs without communication with MANAGEMENT to make the decision to fail service. Every time this happens A disciplinary interview must be scheduled af if no valide reasons are given then a written warning is the suggested action.

It is about time we were taken seriously when we ask our people/ drivers to follow certain procedures.

It has become necessary for me to remind everyone of their responsibility to report all service failures accurately and on time.

There have been recent incidents where large numbers of service failures have been “forgotten” and not reported on the CRS on the correct day, there have also been incidents where service failures have not been verbally reported to myself or the individual covering for me.

I find this hard to understand and totally unacceptable as we have all worked for UPS for a very long time and we are all more than aware of our attitude towards service and integrity, nobody can claim that they do not know and nobody should find themselves in a position where they forgot to report service failures.

It is all of our responsibilities to find the failures and make them visible so that we can resolve the root causes that created them in the first place.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind all of you also that every package that does not get out for delivery must be entered into the PTE system daily stats sheet so that it appears on CRS. Looking at yesterdays report only Cumbernauld  and Gatwick reported the following elements correctly :

Overgoods,Damages,Add corrections,RTS,Will call and Fut. All of these statistics should match  the sum of all packages in your centre and MUST be reported with immediate effect.

I should not have to remind you of this in the future.

Can you answer this question?

Why has this process been allowed for so many years? It would be a very simple tweak to change the program so that the "stop complete" button records the delivery time and not just going to the package scanning page, so that you can stop the clock hours before delivery if necessary.

Does the person who "signed the agreement with UPS" know that you can cheat on the delivery time? 

Why is the process of putting false scans on packages acceptable?
