Just to explain to VOSA & HSE.

This is how it happens in Operations.

  • UPS keep their staffing levels low to save money.
  • Insufficient staff means extra deliveries loaded on vans.
  • Employees scared to complain due to the retribution.
  • Listen to Scott Fowler's statement made in a disciplinary meeting. Drivers to stay out until 22.00 in necessary. Stay out or be sacked.
  • Drivers go on road with their minds on the bullying, the number of stops they have, etc etc.
  • Therefore low concentration.
  • Drivers have to cut corners to get back at a reasonable time. Tachographs breaks, Working Time breaks, Speeding, the list goes on.
  • Drivers have accidents. See Unite poster about the level of UPS accidents in UK.
How many accidents have to occur, before it becomes an issue?

UPS stance. Someone killed in an accident........Get over it.

Employees biting the hand that feeds.............they daren't.

UPS accidents.

In November 2011 the planned UK District Auto plan was 19.0.
The UK District Auto actual figure was 24.93.
Over 25% higher than the target.

Now what could possibly cause that?

(see above)

Leeds, site of previously mentioned bullying was ranked 50 of 52

We also know that not all accidents were being reported.

UPS and treason

Don't know a great deal about this side of the business, but my Maths says UPS owe HMRC just under £7 million. Judging by their track record I wouldn't be surprised.

Someone else being paid off?

"when you consider UPS was changing on average 80 shipments a month with a £1000 fine implemented on every one I think they will take a bit of notice when you consider this went on for 7 years.
DIR ( date into record ) changes on all the inside shipments that have missed month end which makes UPS miss fines which actually is a act of treason as it is ripping off the UK government directly."

Of course, this wouldn't be classed as an integrity issue, just creative accountancy, like......

Starbucks.
Google.
Amazon.

And probably many others

HSE quit out

Dear Mr Whitehead

Many thanks for your message below.

The concerns you raise in respect of bullying and other employment relations issues, are normally managed within the framework of wider employment legislation. This is the responsibility of the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).

HSE does not have the power to investigate individual employee relations cases, and it is the policy of HSE to not investigate individual cases of stress. HSE therefore advises that if the matters cannot be resolved internally, that you should refer these concerns to BIS (Tel: 020 7215 5000 E mail enquiries: enquiries@bis.gis.gov.uk) or the Arbitration and Conciliation Advisory Service (ACAS) Tel: 020 7210 3613.

Yours faithfully

Don't forget if you believe that you are currently being bullied then he may be interested........................or more likely, not

VOSA quit out

Dear Mr. Whitehead

Thank you for your email dated 1st December 2012, concerning the above.

Your concerns have been forwarded to the Regional Intelligence Unit for your area who may use the information as a basis for further investigation.

While we are unable to provide feedback on any intelligence information that we receive, due to the possible sensitivity of its nature, we are extremely grateful for all information received from people like yourself that assist us in meeting our ultimate objective of saving lives, safer roads, cutting crime and protecting the environment.

At the Customer Service Centre, we are sometimes asked for feedback regarding Intelligence reports that have been made, or for contact emails.
Our role is to take the information and pass it on to the relevant Intelligence Officer and they will give consideration as to whether it is used or held on file for future investigations.

It is not policy for the intelligence unit to give feedback on the information received.  This is due to a number of factors including length of time for investigations (could be up to 17 months), the information is confidential, and lack of resources/time (there are only so many investigations that it is possible to conduct at one time).

Should you have further information please send it to enquiries@vosa.gov.uk, and we will be able to forward it to the intelligence unit.

Many Thanks
Stephen

Didn't someone say the words, VOSA, UPS, PAID & OFF.

In fact wasn't it just more than "UPS Sucks" who said that.

Dear Mr VOSA and HSE

I hope that you watched last nights programme.

How many accidents are caused by a lack of concentration?

What do you think could cause a lapse in concentration?

Two words stuck out in last night's programme

HSE update

Dear Mr Whitehead

Many thanks for your response.

I understand that you have already had a full explanation as to why HSE will not be pursuing your concerns (Laura Hedley's letter of 3rd of May 2012 and e mail of 14th of June 2012 refer).

However, to reiterate, HSE operates a risk based complaints handling system. As you are the sole complainant to have had contact with HSE and you no longer work for the company, there is deemed to be no risk to you.

Therefore, HSEs Complaints Handling Team cannot pursue the concerns you have raised, within the parameters set out under the HSE Complaints Handling Procedure (referred to in my e mail of 30th November 2012).

Yours faithfully

To quote Larry Norman......

Nothing ever changes, everything remains the same.

Have spoken to a number of drivers from different centres over the past few days.

Guess what?

Larry was right.

Drivers working through their dinner breaks.
Sick drivers being bullied to come to work.
Sick drivers not being allowed to go home.
Promises being broken
etc
etc
etc

Oops, I've not got over it yet.

Why do you think I was promoted in the first place?
