Unclear why gov't thinks a couple with combined income of £299,998 needs a
£1,200 childcare tax relief. Why not target poorest
families?

I thought I'd mis-heard the figures for this story on the news this morning.
Does this mean that if our combined salaries are, for example, 49,998 I could receive £1,200 childcare tax and the balance of £250,000?
