“Politics laden, but overall stable”
Pros – There are lots of opportunities for cross-functional learning and engagement. If you like to take the lead, you'll need to work closely with many stakeholders to gain support, and it will be stressful, even if you know how to play corporate politics. If you don't want to take the lead, you can easily stand back and do a job without getting involved in politics. Management is good about work/life balance.
Cons – Guaranteed bonuses mentioned by HR are never guaranteed. The overall compensation package is deceiving.
Advice to Senior Management – Phasing out good retirement programs and health benefits may be good to keep expenses down, but bad for turnover.
The only pro? They pay on time
“UPS's Management has to understand that the grow of the Company is due to employees... not machines!”
Pros – They always pay on time.
Cons – Fighting against all the internal burocracy
Advice to Senior Management – Think more on the people and less on the numbers.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
Bullying gets a mention again
“started well then went bad”
Pros – full time work 3rd shift hours paid vacation holidays sick days inside a warehouse not outside big building good location paid training
Cons – 3rd shift bad working conditions mean coworkers management always yelling and belittling not managed well
Advice to Senior Management – give helpful advice without yelling
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
It's who you know
“Once upon a partnership”
Pros – Stability. Stock and benefits. Salary competitive but not the only game in town. Good annual reviews generally lead to decent raises. Office culture varies by department, but I've always had fun and learned a lot from every experience. Work-life balance depends a lot on your manager. I've never had a problem taking care of personal business during work hours as long as I get my work done.
Cons – Biggest challenge is probably for folks who worked here before the company went public. Promotions used to be available to anyone who worked hard and proved themselves on the job. In recent years, I've seen very few promotions in my department (IT), and our latest overhaul of job descriptions means that no one can just "get promoted". The only way up the chain now is through job postings, but that process seems perfunctory and fixed. Good ol' boy network is alive and well here.
Advice to Senior Management – Over the years, Big Brown seems to care less about the workers and more about their stockholders... which is funny, because we're stockholders too. I used to feel like a partner, but now I feel like a number. I like my work and the people, but the main reason I stay is because I haven't been able to find a better offer.
Dishonest Management, where have I heard that one before, lying, no morals and ethics
“it is a 30 yr long and grueling grind for the employee but even more so on his family.”
Pros – money and benefits nothing more nothing less
Cons – you have no family life at all mon-fri. the culture is absolutely horrific,no moral at all, everyone walking on eggshells wondering if they will be the next one to be fired for some fickle reason, management lying constantly to you, management with no morals and ethics at all ...... worst working enviroment you can imagine.
Advice to Senior Management – make your employees happy not miserable, look at the balancing of work and family real closely ,its a big,big problem at ups, also by all means be more morally and ethically responsible

No breaks? That would be legal then
“Not worth the starting pay.”
Pros – Very simple job.
Free workout.
Coworkers were chill.

Cons – No Breaks.
Broken scanners can lead to you getting backed up, which in return means more work.
Other packaging jobs pay more.

Advice to Senior Management – Stop working your new employees so hard and maybe they would not quit so fast.

Working off the clock, skipping lunch, not getting paid, sounds like the UK but it's Dallas, TX. I'm sure the line will be that the drivers choose to do it. Not sure of Americam laws but I'm fairly sure that will be illegal.
“Hard work, but you are rewarded well.”
Pros – A chance to make a really good living. Once you get out on your route the day flies by. Great benefits.
Cons – There can be some long hours sometimes. A lot of drivers come in early and work off the clock. Skipping your lunch and not getting paid for it is common. Sometimes, the drivers who work the hardest just end up getting more work piled on them rather than getting home at a decent hour.
