From the CIPD
Business values aren't worth the paper they're written on
According
to our latest Employee
Outlook report, 40% of employees believe corporate
values aren't worth the paper they're written on. Just 33% said that individuals
were reprimanded for consistent rule breaking, indicating that employers aren't
doing enough to ensure that business values are being upheld. Go
to the report to read more about current perceptions of organisational
values.
Yesterday,
CIPD CEO Peter Cheese used his first address to our Annual
Conference to set out an ambitious new 'broader purpose for HR'. He
referenced the findings from our Employee Outlook survey and talked
about 'a greater need than ever for our profession to step up'. Read
more about Peter Cheese's speech.

In
the news this week PM
highlighted a drop in engagement as employers fail to discuss future career
plans with workers. Do you feel able to discuss workplace ambitions with your
line manager? Let us know in this week's
poll.
Votes
from last week's poll on employee ownership reveal
that: 32% of you think it's a bad idea, 31% say there's no evidence that it'll
be of any benefit, 27% feel the plans are unclear, which leaves just 10% voting
in favour of it.
