UPS News

In the news this week.

From our correspondant close to enemy souces in Irlam.

There is no change in the culture at Irlam. When pressed our source stated that drivers were still taking their breaks in the canteen at the end of the day.

Tales from the riverbank.

Monday saw a driver at Dewsbury walk out. He was given a workload that he felt was impossible to do. No doubt as Dr. Scott Fowler is now the Manager there, he would have expected the driver to have stayed out until 8,9,10 O'clock. (As per audio clip in the right hand column) Or....like Nigel, faced disciplinary action.

Further news came from one of Dewsbury's outpost's. A driver there comfirmed that the old mantra of "things are going to change", were still doing the rounds in Dewsbury. No change in the things are going to change then.......eventually? Never?

More from the enemy stronghold in Dewsbury.
A driver in Dewsbury was over-despatched on Tuesday. He took his lunch break at the end of the day. He keyed this accurately into his DIAD. To date he has not been spoken to. If his timecard had been keyed correctly into Tachomaster, then a report would have highlighted that a break had not been taken at the correct time and that the driver had worked six hours without a break. If UPS were still following the procedures that I put in place, then that report would have been with the Manager or Supervisor the following day. (Although Craig McIntosh stated that it wasn't important to review these daily, Why Craig, another 5 occurrences could have taken place, with the driver choosing to work through his break. Surely this culture of choosing should be stopped, or does it affect productivity) Craig it is 10 months since you stated that it was the drivers choice. Why does this still continue? Why haven't you changed this culture at Dewsbury and Manchester? They were both in your Division.

A further case of drivers leaving their vehicles unlocked, open and unattended occurred during the week. I can't post the photo's, but a driver was so busy rushing, that his vehicle was open and unattended for several minutes. In fact I was standing in his van. I could have removed anything I wanted, or more importantly, if I was a terrorist, I could quite easily have placed a bomb either in a package on his van, or put a new box onto his van. Bombs and UPS, now what does that remind me of ?????? He was way so long he didn't even know that I'd been on.

Of course, now that Abu Hamza has left the country we are all safe. Why shouldn't the Queen have an opinion about him?

Strange how all these occurrences still keep happening.

Is that because VOSA, HSE, Unite and CIPD aren't interested. Why could that be?

Bombs ????????

That would be this label then;

What was that Scott?

It's only a plane

It's only a couple of pilots
