Davis, Savile & Armstrong

Following on from the discussion on Radio 5 Live last Sunday night regarding Sir Jimmy Savile, on Monday there was a very interesting programme called Peddlers-Cyclings dirty truth. It is well worth a listen even if you aren't interested in cycling. Not sure how Lance Armstrong can get out of this one.

There should be an amnesty in sport now so that everyone can come clean (so to speak)
The implication is that almost every sport is affected.

Peddlers: Cycling's Dirty Truth

Mon, 15 Oct 12
Duration:
112 mins
Mark Chapman lifts the lid on the secret world of drug abuse in cycling. With contributions from former Tour de France cyclists Tyler Hamilton, Matt De Canio, Christophe Basson. Lance Armstrong's former soigner Emma O'Reilly tells us about an abuse that was rife inside his US Postal Service Team during their period of dominance. British cyclist David Millar also outlines how the present and future of the sport are a different proposition.

also available as a Podcast

In both programmes you could take out Saville and Armstrong and insert UPS.

People who wanted to know, knew about it
I've never tested positive (Never been caught)
Prayed on by their bosses
Complict media, nobody listens
Bullied out of the sport
If everyone is doing it you have to do it
Code of silence
career destroyed for speaking out
its all about connections
sociopaths have enablers around them
by not saying it you are lying as well
courage not to dope, moral courage to stand up
knew difference between right and wrong
head in the sand
Basson rounded on by Armstrong for publishing
laws protect the guilty and rich
vilified for speaking the truth
all complicit in the structure
with bullies, he who blinks first
pure and simple bullying
telling the truth would piss off alot of people
completely cast out into the wilderness
humiliating climbdown
If I'm shooting at something it needs to be shot at
pilloried for coming clean
