More Armstrong & UPS

This week's contibution, Everyday Ethics. A programme broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster.

Listen to podcast here

Is it ever too late to confess the programme asks. Probably yes, as they state that Lance has become a toxic brand. Is that what is going to happen to UPS?

There were some quotes from the Oprah interview. One of which was that it was "Part of the job". Is that what the score is in UPS now? It is just part of the job to cheat customers, lie and bully?

The interview, they said, hadn't really gone down well in the States as Americans don't like being lied to (Better start getting used to it) particularly by someone who was portrayed by Lance and others as quite such a hero. There's a lot of noise about how clean they are, but really it's all mis-direction. It's all a big noise for a cover-up.

He denied and sued, even about his hospital confession.

It was not simply because he cheated, he created a whole network of conspiracy. He threatened and sue people who told the truth. Peoples lives and careers were ruined. It was much more than just a technical infringement of rules.

Why did he contribute $100,000 to the UCI? Just because the UCI asked him to?

Another quote was that I was "a workplace requirement". All part of an organised plot. Industries don't run with just one person, do they, Scott, Cindy, Tony, Craig, Steve. You have to have backing from above to succeed.

Drugs in cycling help you succeed.
Fraud in business helps you make a bigger profit.

Did I say UPS Managers were thieves?

To sue me you have to go to court and you don't want to do that do you?
